OPALCO’s Project PAL – Help your Neighbor

As the days get shorter and the temperature drops, power bills go up and many islanders struggle to make ends meet. This year, more than ever, islanders will have to dig deep to stay current on their bills. OPALCO created Project PAL to help co-op members look out for each other. Project PAL gives people in need a grant of about $150 during the heating season to help them get by.

There are many ways islanders can support this program:

PAL is administered through the family and community resource centers in the islands. Eligibility is based on a family income level of up to 200% of the Federal Poverty Income Guidelines. If you need some help to stay warm and cozy this winter, please reach out to your family or community resource center. You can also apply online and OPALCO will forward your application to the resource center that serves your island.

OPALCO has several other ways members can get support this season including COVID-19 relief measures and our energy assistance program. Islanders helping islanders: the island way! Find out more at www.opalco.com.
