Lineman Apprentice – All Districts
OPALCO is seeking a dependable team player to fill the position of Apprentice Lineman which assists journeyman linemen in the construction, maintenance, and operation of the overhead and underground transmission and distribution system. Position includes Journeyman Lineman training. Applicant must have a high school diploma or equivalent and a “C” grade or better in high school algebra. The three positions are based on Orcas Island, San Juan Island and Lopez Island and are bargaining unit, full-time position. Salary and benefits are competitive. System Engineer – Orcas Island
OPALCO is seeking a System Engineer in our Eastsound office to engineer, monitor, schedule and plan for the transmission and distribution electrical systems. Applicant must be able to perform a wide-variety of duties and responsibilities with accuracy and under pressure of time sensitive deadlines. Duties include but are not limited to system problem solving, system protection, project estimates and budgets, design review and approval, certification and inspections, and assist coworkers and the general public with technical support and information as requested. Journeyman Lineman – Orcas Island
OPALCO is seeking a certified Journeyman Lineman to join our co-op team on beautiful Orcas Island in Northwest Washington State. Position performs a wide range of work including construction, maintenance and operation of our overhead and underground transmission and distribution system; operation of equipment; and some interaction with co-op members. Will work closely with home crew of five linemen and also travel to other islands, working with two other small crews. Pay starts at $45.35/hour with the opportunity for up to two weeks of paid standby time each month in addition to overtime. Here is the Journeyman Lineman Detailed Job Description.
