Journeyman Lineman – Orcas Island
OPALCO is seeking a certified Journeyman Lineman to join our co-op team on beautiful Orcas Island in Northwest Washington State. Position performs a wide range of work including construction, maintenance and operation of our overhead and underground transmission and distribution system; operation of equipment; and some interaction with co-op members. Will work closely with home crew of five linemen and also travel to other islands, working with two other small crews. Pay starts at $43.98/hour with the opportunity for up to two weeks of paid standby time each month in addition to overtime. Please see the Detailed Job Description: Journeyman Lineman. OPALCO is seeking a dependable team player to maintain and optimize the performance of all classes of metering on the OPALCO electrical system. Applicant must be well organized with a strong attention to detail, and have the ability to interact with people in a positive and tactful manner. Applicant performs testing, installation and repair of all residential, commercial and industrial electric meters; prepares a variety of complex reports and assists with special research projects; performs special meter readings for disconnection and reconnections; responds to member questions and complaints, investigating as directed; and operates and calibrates test equipment.
