Apprentice Journeyman Lineman

OPALCO is hiring Apprentice Lineman for the San Juan District. The positions assist journeyman linemen in the construction, maintenance, and operation of the overhead and underground transmission and distribution system. Position includes Journeyman Lineman training. Applicant must have a high school diploma or equivalent and a “C” grade or better in high school algebra. This is a bargaining unit, full-time position. GIS Technician  – Orcas Island

OPALCO is seeking a GIS (Geographic Information Systems) Technician. Successful candidates will have a willingness to learn, attention to detail and drafting/mapping experience is preferred. Main roles include updating system and electrical maps, tracking system changes, and providing services to other departments to facilitate their needs through GIS, SCADA, AutoCAD, and other software applications.

Journeyman Lineman 
OPALCO is seeking a certified Journeyman Lineman to join our co-op team serving the San Juan Islands of Northwest Washington State. Position performs a wide range of work including construction, maintenance and operation of our overhead and underground transmission and distribution system; operation of equipment; and some interaction with co-op members. Will work closely with home crew of five linemen and also travel to other islands, working with two other small crews. Pay starts at $54.33/hour with the opportunity for up to two weeks of paid standby time each month in addition to overtime. Here is the Journeyman Lineman Detailed Job Description.
