<\/strong>La Junta de OPALCO vot\u00f3 un\u00e1nimemente para garantizar que todos los miembros de la cooperativa tuvieran derecho a voto y voz para elegir y retener a los miembros de la junta. El modelo cooperativo se basa en la premisa de un voto por cada miembro.<\/p>\n

El Art\u00edculo I, Secci\u00f3n 10 de los estatutos de OPALCO ha sido revisado para brindar a todos los miembros la oportunidad de votar en el caso de una convocatoria para la destituci\u00f3n o reemplazo de un miembro de la junta directiva. Randy J. Cornelius, Gerente General, dice que se encontr\u00f3 que el lenguaje de los estatutos no cumpl\u00eda con la ley estatal actual (RCW 24.06.110). "La acci\u00f3n de la Junta de hoy tiene como objetivo defender y proteger el derecho de nuestros miembros a elegir a sus directores", dijo Cornelius. "Esto es parte integral de la fuerza y la unidad de nuestra cooperativa".<\/p>\n

El tema surgi\u00f3 durante la reuni\u00f3n ordinaria de la Junta Directiva en febrero cuando el asesor legal de OPALCO descubri\u00f3 la falla en nuestros estatutos. La Junta determin\u00f3 que, debido al momento de la Asamblea Anual (3 de mayo), se justificaba una discusi\u00f3n adicional inmediata sobre este tema de los estatutos. La Junta se reuni\u00f3 telef\u00f3nicamente el 6 de marzo de 2014, de conformidad con nuestro estatuto sobre reuniones especiales, para discutir y actuar sobre el asunto.<\/p>\n
