Gracias a todos los miembros de la cooperativa que participaron en nuestra 76\u00aa reuni\u00f3n anual. Ahora esperamos con ansias el pr\u00f3ximo cap\u00edtulo de la larga historia de OPALCO, que escribiremos juntos.<\/p>\n

Durante mis siete a\u00f1os en la Junta, he visto avances extraordinarios en muchas \u00e1reas importantes: aumentar la confiabilidad, mantener bajos los costos de los miembros y mantener y proteger nuestra posici\u00f3n financiera hist\u00f3ricamente s\u00f3lida.<\/p>\n

OPALCO obtiene constantemente las mejores calificaciones en revisiones externas realizadas por auditores independientes, financiadores y agencias federales. Nuestro programa de operaciones y mantenimiento, el plan de proyectos de capital, el plan a largo plazo y las finanzas cooperativas son evaluados peri\u00f3dicamente por agencias externas. Nuestras calificaciones encabezan las listas. OPALCO ha implementado nuevas mejores pr\u00e1cticas en nuestros procesos internos de planificaci\u00f3n y gesti\u00f3n de proyectos, para que podamos hacer m\u00e1s cada a\u00f1o con mayor eficiencia.<\/p>\n

OPALCO est\u00e1 continuamente modernizando nuestra planta f\u00edsica. En 2012, mejoramos y ampliamos significativamente nuestras redes de transmisi\u00f3n y distribuci\u00f3n, instalando nuevos equipos y reemplazando la infraestructura antigua. La confiabilidad del sistema de energ\u00eda el\u00e9ctrica hoy en d\u00eda depende del despliegue de tecnolog\u00edas nuevas e innovadoras. Hemos automatizado nuestro sistema conectando nuestras subestaciones con una red de fibra \u00f3ptica que nos permite utilizar herramientas de red inteligente como SCADA (Supervisi\u00f3n, Control y Adquisici\u00f3n de Datos) para monitorear y controlar los equipos y la calidad de la energ\u00eda.<\/p>\n

Un objetivo importante para OPALCO es contener los costos de los miembros, porque nuestros costos de energ\u00eda de Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) seguir\u00e1n aumentando a medida que el costo de la energ\u00eda crezca en todo el mundo. OPALCO utiliza un enfoque multifac\u00e9tico:<\/p>\n

  1. Instalando continuamente equipos de red m\u00e1s eficientes energ\u00e9ticamente.<\/li>\n
  2. Apoyar la generaci\u00f3n local de energ\u00eda renovable, incluida la solar, la e\u00f3lica y la microhidr\u00e1ulica.<\/li>\n

    A medida que el dedicado personal de OPALCO mejora nuestro sistema y apoya a nuestros miembros, el talentoso equipo administrativo de OPALCO mantiene una base financiera s\u00f3lida para la cooperativa. Desde cualquier punto de vista financiero, OPALCO es una de las cooperativas el\u00e9ctricas rurales m\u00e1s s\u00f3lidas y mejor administradas de todo el pa\u00eds.
