\"Acad\u00e9micoSam (Swanson) Lower fue el becario juvenil de OPALCO en 2011 de la isla L\u00f3pez. Actualmente vive en Fargo, Dakota del Norte con su esposo y est\u00e1 esperando un beb\u00e9. Es generalista senior de recursos humanos en Marsh McLennan Agency (una empresa nacional de consultor\u00eda de seguros). Sam utiliz\u00f3 su beca OPALCO para asistir a la Universidad Eastern Washington y especializarse en Administraci\u00f3n de Servicios de Salud con especializaci\u00f3n en Administraci\u00f3n de Empresas.<\/p>\n

\"jovenA Sam le encanta ayudar a los dem\u00e1s y le apasiona ver c\u00f3mo otros triunfan y se sienten realizados en su trabajo. Le gusta ayudar a las personas a elaborar un curr\u00edculum competitivo y prepararse para entrevistas. Otros logros incluyen asesorar regularmente a estudiantes de secundaria y universitarios, administrar un programa de pasant\u00edas y ayudar a colegas a construir trayectorias profesionales competitivas en su empresa. Habla regularmente en reuniones grandes, construye relaciones r\u00e1pidamente al reclutar y apoya a otros en su rol de liderazgo: todas habilidades que comenz\u00f3 a desarrollar en el Rally Juvenil.<\/p>\n

La manifestaci\u00f3n juvenil le ense\u00f1\u00f3 c\u00f3mo establecer contactos, sentirse m\u00e1s segura al hablar en p\u00fablico y aprender la diferencia entre cu\u00e1ndo liderar y cu\u00e1ndo apoyar a otros para que lideren. Ella anima a los j\u00f3venes de la isla a postularse para el programa \u201c\u00a1Adelante! Esta es una gran oportunidad para adquirir experiencia no solo entrevistando y postulando a un programa competitivo, sino que una vez aceptado, tendr\u00e1 una incre\u00edble oportunidad de desarrollar sus habilidades de liderazgo y networking.
