\"clase\"M\u00e1s de 65 estudiantes que representan a cooperativas el\u00e9ctricas desde Alaska hasta Nevada asistieron al Rally Juvenil Cooperativo 2022 en el College of Idaho. El evento de una semana de duraci\u00f3n es un campamento de liderazgo y un programa de becas para cooperativas el\u00e9ctricas rurales y servicios p\u00fablicos.<\/p>\n

Cuatro estudiantes de secundaria de las islas representaron a OPALCO.<\/p>\n

De la escuela secundaria Orcas Island: August Moore y Valeria Villareal; y de Friday Harbor High: McKenna Clark y Satchel Bourne. Menci\u00f3n de honor para Luke Fincher de Friday Harbor, quien fue aceptado en el programa pero no pudo asistir en el \u00faltimo minuto.<\/p>\n

Los estudiantes tienen una semana repleta de aprendizaje, desarrollo de liderazgo, trabajo en equipo y diversi\u00f3n en el campamento de verano. Los j\u00f3venes participan en clases sobre la industria el\u00e9ctrica, estructuras de gobernanza, desaf\u00edos comerciales, generaci\u00f3n el\u00e9ctrica y renovable, as\u00ed como actividades de liderazgo y la oportunidad de establecer conexiones con pares en toda la regi\u00f3n. El Programa Cooperativo de Becas para J\u00f3venes Nourdine Jensen de OPALCO cuenta con el apoyo de la familia de Nourdine Jensen, miembro de la junta directiva de OPALCO desde hace mucho tiempo y comprometido a apoyar a los j\u00f3venes de nuestras comunidades isle\u00f1as para que aprendan sobre el poder p\u00fablico y brinden oportunidades para explorar fuera del condado de San Juan.
