Una parte de esa visi\u00f3n es construir proyectos solares a escala comunitaria junto con bater\u00edas para almacenamiento de energ\u00eda. El primer proyecto solar comunitario se complet\u00f3 en 2018 el <a href=\"https:\/\/energysavings.opalco.com\/energy-savings\/renewable-generation\/community-solar\/decatur-community-solar-project\/\">Isla Decatur<\/a> (pagado por 100% por los miembros participantes) \u2013 y esta primavera el componente de almacenamiento de bater\u00eda (el contenedor blanco en la subestaci\u00f3n) estar\u00e1 en l\u00ednea.<\/p>\n<p>OPALCO planea construir un proyecto solar comunitario en 2020 y seguir con un proyecto de bater\u00edas en 2021, y luego repetir ese patr\u00f3n hasta que se satisfaga la demanda de energ\u00eda solar comunitaria de los miembros.<\/p>\n<p>Sin embargo, las energ\u00edas renovables son s\u00f3lo una pieza del rompecabezas mientras OPALCO planifica de d\u00f3nde vendr\u00e1 nuestra energ\u00eda futura.
