La mayor\u00eda de nosotros vivimos aqu\u00ed debido a la belleza pr\u00edstina que ofrecen nuestras islas. Entonces, naturalmente queremos hacer lo correcto con nuestro consumo de energ\u00eda y limitar nuestro impacto de carbono en nuestra \u00e1rea local.<\/p>\n<p>Algunos de nuestros miembros han sido contactados por un comercializador intermedio de energ\u00eda renovable llamado Arcadia Power. Arcadia Power ofrece Certificados de Energ\u00eda Renovable (REC). Los REC en realidad no cambian el origen de la electricidad; Arcadia Power paga a un tercero (por ejemplo, una granja solar en Arizona) para generar la electricidad. La electricidad real que fluye a trav\u00e9s de su medidor aqu\u00ed en el condado de San Juan contin\u00faa siendo generada por el proveedor de energ\u00eda de OPALCO (BPA\/PNGC), que, por cierto, est\u00e1 libre de aproximadamente 90% de gases de efecto invernadero.
