Amenaza los ecosistemas marinos de todo el mundo, incluido nuestro Mar Salish.<\/li>\n<li>La disminuci\u00f3n del pH del oc\u00e9ano hace que a los animales calcificantes como el cangrejo Dungeness les resulte m\u00e1s dif\u00edcil construir y mantener sus caparazones y a peces como el salm\u00f3n detectar a los depredadores.<\/li>\n<li>Nuestros oc\u00e9anos absorben casi un tercio de las emisiones de di\u00f3xido de carbono. Diariamente aparecen nuevos informes sobre la acidificaci\u00f3n de los oc\u00e9anos y la disminuci\u00f3n o migraci\u00f3n de las poblaciones de peces y mariscos (salm\u00f3n, langostas, langostinos, vieiras, etc.).<\/li>\n<li>El calentamiento global amenaza al salm\u00f3n de diversas maneras, incluido el salm\u00f3n joven que muere cuando el agua se calienta por encima de cierto umbral y corrientes de agua m\u00e1s c\u00e1lidas que aumentan los brotes de enfermedades de los peces.<\/li>\n<li>OPALCO obtiene su energ\u00eda de PNGC\/BPA, que se genera principalmente a trav\u00e9s de energ\u00eda hidroel\u00e9ctrica. \u201cHydro\u201d se alimenta de lluvia y nieve, un recurso limpio y renovable con muy bajas emisiones de carbono. La energ\u00eda hidroel\u00e9ctrica es, con diferencia, la mejor y m\u00e1s limpia fuente de energ\u00eda de carga b\u00e1sica para la salud de nuestros oc\u00e9anos.
