Programs

Orcas Power & Light Cooperative (OPALCO) is committed to serving its member-owners in San Juan County and offers programs designed to meet unmet needs, educate and engage the membership on issues of importance to the co-op; and improve the quality of life for all co-op members.

Project PAL: Provides members with help paying their electric bills during times of hardship or difficulty.

Ambassador Program: A grassroots legislative action group that keeps informed about issues important to the Co-op, sometimes reaching out to elected officials when key issues are at stake.

Island Network: OPALCO develops and maintains a fiber optics network in rural San Juan County primarily to serve its own telecommunications and interoffice voice and data communication system needs. Secondarily, OPALCO offers its excess fiber capacity to its members on a pay-as-you-go basis with a priority for serving essential and critical services in the county.

eskids_logo_ad(Not for) Kids Only: Fun games, information and slideshows about energy and what you can do to make a difference. Parent and teacher content and curriculum is available, too.
