Power Information

Orcas Power & Light Cooperative (OPALCO) distributes power generated by Bonneville Power Administration (BPA). OPALCO’s fuel mix is 96% greenhouse gas free and predominately generated by hydro-electric dams. In addition to the power purchased from BPA, OPALCO has net metering agreements with more than 30 members who generate their own electricity with small renewable solar and wind projects.

OPALCO’s Engineering department is available to help members who want to install a new electrical service, or make modifications to an existing service. Check out the process online or contact the Work Order Clerk in Engineering to get started.

Always CALL BEFORE YOU DIG on any project small or large. OPALCO is committed to safety for its members and employees. Please check out information on outages, surge protection, vegetation management and generators to protect and prepare your household.
