  Clockwise from top-left:
  1.  OPALCO’s Ron Cross operates the pulling machine
  2.  Todd Shaner and Kerry Anderson supervise the pulling of the cable
  3.  The cable is guided to the turning block
  4.  Once they reach the turning guide, pulling is stopped and prep- arations are made to pull fifty more feet in order to leave enough cable to make the termination connections
  5.  CMI's Dave Smith makes a pulling eye to pull in the last 50 feet
  6.  The finished eye
  7.  Jay Fowler guides the slowly pulled cable

Once the cable was anchored to the beach (so as not to pull it out of the duct), CMI begins laying the cable through the eel grass area with a low impact plow. The next day, the cable was laid across Harney Channel to Shaw Island where crews were waiting to secure the cable on that side of the crossing.
